Aistersheim

Aistersheim is a municipality with 859 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Upper Austria in the Gries district churches in Hausruckviertel. The municipality is located in the judicial district of Gries churches.

Geography

Aistersheim is located on 437 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The expansion is 5 km from north to south, from west to east 3.7 km. The total area is 11.1 km ². 26.1 % of the area is forested, 66.7 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. The moated castle was built by Aist known as minstrel Dietmar von Aist around the year 1136 and was a border fortification to Bavaria. Since 1490 the place is the Principality " Austria above the Enns". During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times. Since 1918, the town belongs to the province of Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria. The municipality since 1 January 2003, part of the judicial district of Gries church, before it belonged to the district court at the Hague house jerk.

Population Development

In 1991 the community had 734 inhabitants according to the census, then 786 inhabitants in 2001, 798 inhabitants in 2005 and then to April 1, 2009 833 inhabitants.

Coat of arms

Blazon: divided by silver and black and split twice. The municipality colors are blue and white.

The municipality operates since 18 September 1982 a coat of arms of the old Bavarian Uradelsgeschlechtes the Aistersheimer that from November 11, 1146 for the first time appeared in a Passau document in the light of history and were in possession of the castle and lordship Aistersheim until its expiry in 1426.

Culture and sights

  • Parish Church of the Assumption: 1699-1700 was the construction of the church in the Baroque style by Jakob Pawanger from Passau.
  • Castle Aistersheim: The 1159 first mentioned moated castle was until 1426 owned by the lords of Aistersheim, then to 1824 in the possession of the High fields. The present building of the Renaissance castle goes back to a reconstruction in the years 1520-1600.
