Aix, Corrèze

Aix ( Ais in Occitan ) is a commune with 384 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Pays d' Eygurande.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin on the right bank of the Dognon, a tributary of the Dordogne.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 90 kilometers south-west, about 11 kilometers southwest Ussel and Clermont- Ferrand approximately 70 kilometers north-east.

Neighboring communities of Aix are Lamazière -Haute in the north, Eygurande in the northeast, Merlines in the east, Saint- Étienne- aux- Clos in the Southeast, Saint- Fréjoux in the south, Ussel in the southwest, Saint- Pardoux -le- Neuf and Courteix in the west and Couffy -sur- Sarsonne in the northwest.

Traffic

The village is located about 5 kilometers north-west of exit 24 of the A89 autoroute.
