Briscoe Frères was a French manufacturer of automobiles.

Company History

After the Industrial and auto pioneer Benjamin Briscoe had suffered with the formation of a holding as a counter- concept to General Motors in the United States a huge fiasco, he went with his brother Frank to France. They formed in 1913 in Neuilly -sur -Seine, the company Briscoe Frères as a branch of its U.S. company Briscoe Motor Corporation and began the manufacture of a cyclecars, which was marketed as Ajax. 1914 ended production in France. With minor technical modifications, it was until 1916 in Jackson (Michigan) (United States) as Argo and until 1918 in Waterloo (Iowa) (United States) as Arabian further built.

Rolling stock

The only model was a two-seat Cyclecar. It was equipped with a water-cooled four-cylinder engine with SV - valve timing, 980 cc and 12 hp. Special feature was the friction or friction gear. Power transmission was via a cardan shaft. The wheelbase was 2286 mm, the track 1118 mm and weight about 340 kg.
