AJC Transatlantic Institute

The AJC Transatlantic Institute ( German: AJC Transatlantic Institute ) is the Brussels office of the American Jewish Committee, a global NGO. It was founded in February 2004 in order to strengthen the relations between Europe and the USA.

By his own testimony, the AJC Transatlantic Institute is working to strengthen " Transatlantic Cooperation for global security, peace in the Middle East and human rights. " It is part of the network of international offices of the American Jewish Committee, which also include those in Berlin and Paris. Harold Tanner is Chairman of the AJC Transatlantic Institute. 2011, the German writer Daniel Schwammenthal was appointed director. Its predecessor was the Italian political scientist Emanuele Ottolenghi, who headed the Institute between 2006 and 2010.

Director

Prior to 2011, the management of the AJC Transatlantic Institute took over, Daniel Schwammenthal was employed by the Wall Street Journal Europe in Brussels and Amsterdam seven years. There, wrote about EU policy, the Middle East conflict, Iran, Islamism and terrorism.

International Advisory Board

The International Advisory Board of the AJC Transatlantic Institute sits Ana Palacio, former Foreign Minister of Spain, front. Other notable members include former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte and the German journalist Josef Joffe.
