The airfield Ajdovščina ( ICAO code LJAJ, Slovenian Letališče Ajdovščina ) is the airfield of the Slovenian town of Ajdovščina. He serves primarily the air sports and tourism. In addition, uses Pipistrel, a Slovenian manufacturer of ultralight aircraft, the airfield since the 1990s as a testing ground and since 2002 as a factory airfield and production facility.

Location and infrastructure

The airfield is located at an altitude of 117 m AMSL and is directly adjacent to the western part of the city area. It has a grass runway with dimensions of 1060 × 50 m, which is oriented in an east-west direction (09 /27). South of the railway there is a large lawn area, which is provided for landing of helicopters and parachutists, Tower and hangars, as well as a small airstrip for flight models.

Flight operations

In Ajdovščina only take place under Visual Flight Rules. Aircraft - approved for airplanes, rotorcraft, gliders, parachutes and Ultralight - may not exceed a maximum take-off weight of 5000 kg.
