Akbank

Akbank T.A.Ş. is a Turkish bank with headquarters in Istanbul and one of the largest companies in Turkey.

The company provides financial services of various kinds for its customers. The company is managed by Suzan Sabancı Dinçer from the Turkish Industrialists Sabancı family.

Akbank was founded in January 1948 in Adana, Turkey. Akbank has 20 regional offices with 873 stores and about 15,000 employees. On 31 March 2011 she had a fortune of 78.5 billion dollars and generated a profit of 4.74 billion dollars. 29 percent of the shares are traded on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

In January 2007, the U.S. bank Citigroup acquired 20 percent stake in Akbank for 3.1 billion U.S. dollars.

In Germany and the Netherlands, Akbank is represented by its German subsidiary Akbank AG.
