Ã…ke Andersson (footballer)

Åke Magnus Andersson ( born April 22, 1917 in Gothenburg, † July 20, 1983 ) was a Swedish football player. The outside or inside forward in his career came next 165 games in the Allsvenskan, Sweden's highest football league to twelve international appearances for the Swedish national team.

Career

Andersson began playing football at BK Forward, before he came over Elisedals IS 1935 GAIS. There debuted " Carnera ," was his nickname in the Allsvenskan. In his second season with the club from Gothenburg he was able to win a regular place in the storm. In 1937 he went with the club into the Division II. After one season in the second division he left the club and Gothenburg.

Andersson returned to the first division and was hired by AIK. Here he was able to fight for a regular place to bat. Seven seasons, he ran for the club in Allsvenskan. His career trailed off in 1946 when unterklassigen Rålambshovs IF.

Andersson was 1937-1941 Swedish national team. He played a total of twelve caps, scoring two goals. At the World Championships in 1938, he belonged to the squad of the national selection and came in the match for third place against Brazil to its single tournament game.

Remarkable

Andersson's brother Folke played for GAIS in the season 1946/47, for a short time in the Allsvenskan.
