Aksay, West Kazakhstan Province

Aqsai ( Kazakh Ақсай; Russian Аксай / Aksai ) is a city in Kazakhstan, with about 42 426 inhabitants ( 2009). It is in the area Westkasachstans.

History

The town was founded as a railway station and got in 1967 was granted town rights.

Economy

With the opening of the major oil and gas extraction facility Karachaganak Aqsai received an impetus for faster development. Early and mid -1980s, settled in the city construction workers from countries of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance to; especially from Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary and Bulgaria. They made for the construction of the lines on the oil field and living options. Originally it was assumed that the raw materials are processed completely from the circle in the Orenburg gas system. Since that time, the city is the term " Czech, German houses, Hungarian town " ( " чешские ", " немецкие » дома, венгерский городок ) remained. At the same time a series of underground nuclear explosions for creating underground deposits were carried out in the field. Currently, all cavities that resulted from the explosion, conserved and have no effect on oil production. The checks on the state of the cavities are guided by the National Nuklearzentum Kazakhstan.

Traffic

In the city there is a station of the railway line from Oral to Sol - Ilezk.
