Aktueller Software Markt

The journal Current software market (ASM ) was one of the first German-language magazines specifically about computer games; previously such reviews were published only in the context of general computer magazines. It was published from March 1986 to February 1995.

History

The first issue of ASM was published in March 1986, she was at that time the only, but not the first German -language magazine, which mainly focused on computer games. Already from 1982 to 1985, there had been with the Tele Match a short-lived magazine with a similar orientation, but not long-term in the market had been able to establish.

The ASM was published by the founder and managing partner of Tronic Verlag in Eschwege, Axel Grede. Concept, design and development of the journal were realized by editor in chief Manfred Kleimann from the first edition.

The articles with the game tests ended with an info box, the graphics, sounds, game idea and motivation play graded. There were categories such as Games -flop of the day, reports from the computer scene and overviews of the best-selling games and the high scores from readers.

The magazine reached over the years a high binding to the reader, among other things due to the loose style of writing the editors and the larger than average course, which acknowledged the imprint of letters from readers. Because of this high binding, the magazine has also over a decade after its setting, numerous fans, some scans of the reviews and editorial contributions to the network.

Popular with readers was also from 1988 contained in the booklet and Matthias Neumann subscribed Space-Rat comic.

As of issue 12/ 1993, the magazine was called ASM - The Fun magazine from issue 11/1994 ASM - The computer humor magazine. End of 1991, the longtime editor in chief Manfred Kleimann left the editorial team, and was succeeded by Matthias Siegk. From issue 5/ 1993 Peter Schmitz took over the post of chief editor, who led the ASM up to their setting.

The last issue was published in February 1995.
