Al-Bakri (crater)

Al- Bakri is a small lunar crater on the northwestern edge of Mare Tranquillitatis, west -northwest striking crater Plinius. It is located south of the eastern foothills of the mountain range Montes Haemus that limit the Mare Serenitatis in the north. In its south run the Rimae Maclear.

Al- Bakri is circular and bowl-shaped and shows a small crater floor in the center of the sloping interior walls.

The crater was named Tacquet A, before he got his current name from the IAU by the Spanish- Arab geographer and historian Abu Abdullah Al- Bakri.
