Al Jean

Al Jean ( born January 9, 1961 in Farmington Hills, Michigan) is an American screenwriter and producer. Jean grew up in Detroit and studied at Harvard. He is currently the showrunner of the series The Simpsons. Since the beginning of the series he was involved as a writer and producer. Together with Mike Reiss he served as show runner for the third and fourth season. Since the 13th Season Jean is the sole showrunner of the series. He was also producer of the series The Critic and writer for Alf.

In the course of his participation in The Simpsons Jean was honored with numerous awards. Previously, he won eight Emmys.
