Al-Kafirun
Al - kafirun (Arabic الكافرون, DMG al - kafirun, the unbelievers ') is the 109th sura of the Qur'an. According to the prevailing opinion of exegetes, it was revealed in Mecca. In contrast, refers, inter alia, Ibn Abbas as they Madinan in one of two statements. As one of the shortest surahs it includes six verses.
Revelation and recitation
For reason of its revelation it says in the traditions of the Prophet Mohammed, a group of senior Quraysh [note 1] had come to Mohammed and had offered him, to make him the richest man in Mecca to let him marry who he wants and give him the priority, if he cease their idols " insult " to. Abū l - at- Tabarani Qāsim narrated that Muhammad recommended to recite Surah al kafirun before sleeping, as they deliver them from shirk.
Translation
" ( 1) Say: Unbelievers! ( 2) I worship not what you worship ( w.Ich not serving the one you serve; accordingly in the following verses ), ( 3) and not that which ye worship that which I worship. ( 4) And I worship not that which ye have (so far always) worshiped, (5) and not that which ye worship that which I worship. (6 ) To you be your religion, and I mean that. "
Interpretation
Verse 1: The statement "Say! " intended to announce to the Prophet Mohammed, who is asked. The choice of words, "You infidels" Although all includes those on the world, do not follow Islam, but are addressed with this sura the disbelievers of Quraysh.
Verse 2: God commands Muhammad to completely absolve the faith of the Quraysh.
Verse 3: In this and the fifth verse, the word "what" ( mā ) the meaning of " whom" (man); meant the worship of God alone and without a partner. The polytheists are accused of not the commands and laws to obey God, but rather something to follow Ausgedachtem. This is consistent with 53:23:
