Al-Rashid Mausoleum

The ar - Rashid 's Mausoleum (Persian آرامگاه الراشدبالله, IPA: ɑɾɑmɡɑh ɛ æɾɾɑʃɛdobɛllɑh ) is a historic mausoleum in Isfahan, Iran.

The mausoleum dates back to the Seljuk era and is located on the north bank of the river Zayandeh next to the bridge Pol-e Shah Restan. This building is the tomb of al-Rashid, the Abbasid caliph the thirtieth. He left his palace and fled from Baghdad to Isfahan, as Mahmud of Ghazni conquered Baghdad. After two years in 1138 ar - Rashid was killed with the dagger of an assassin. The only decorative element of the mausoleum is a stuccoed Kufic inscription.
