Alamgir II.

Alamgir II (* June 16, 1699 in Multan, † November 29, 1759 near Delhi; actually Aziz al-Din Abul- Adl Muhammad Alamgir ) was from 1754 until his death, Emperor of the North Indian Mughal Empire. His father was Jahandar Shah (r. 1712-1713 ).

Aziz al-Din arrived on June 2, 1754 with the support of Ghaziuddin Imad ul -Mulk, the grandson of the Nizams of Hyderabad, to the throne and took the name of Alamgir II to, in reference to Aurangzeb Alamgir, whose orthodoxy he had a model.
