Alban Bagbin

Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin (born 24 September 1957, as Sombo, Upper West Region, Ghana ) is a leading lawyer and politician in Ghana. He is a member of the Party National Democratic Congress (NDC ) and holds a seat on the Ghanaian Parliament for the constituency Nadowli West in the Upper West Region.

Education and Career

Alban received his secondary education at the Wa Secondary School ( WASEC ) and later at the Tamale Secondary School ( TAMASCO ) In 1977 graduated as the best student Bagbin the Tamale Secondary Scholl from. He studied law and worked 1986-1992 as a lawyer. Between 1989 and 1992 Bagbin was as an advocate of Credit Unions Association and moved in 1993 to the Law Trust Company, which he co-founded.

Bagbin is in the current Parliament of Ghana minority spokesman of the opposition party NDC.

Between 1997 and 2000 he was a member of the National Media Commission, between 1996 and 2000 also Chairman of the Committee for Water Affairs. He also was chairman of the Committee for Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs.

Family

Bagbin is married and has no children. The parents were Bagbins farmers from poor relationship of the people of Dagaare.
