Albert Burbank

Albert Burbank ( born March 25, 1902 in New Orleans; † August 15, 1976 ) was an American jazz clarinetist.

Albert Burbank studied with Lorenzo Tio and began working as a professional musician, including Arnold DePass, Buddy Petit, Chris Kelly and Punch Miller in the 1920s. In the 1930s he played in dance halls and had during the Second World War his own quartet. In the 1940s and 1950s, he played with Wooden Joe Nicholas, Albert Jiles, De De Pierce, Herb Morand (1949 /50), Paul Barbarin, Kid Clayton, Bill Matthews, Octave Crosby, Ernie Cagnolatti and 1954 in Kid Ory, in his later years came Burbank regularly in the Paddock lounge ( 1954-66 ), the Dixieland Hall and 1969-73 at Preservation Hall on. Burbank, who died in August 1976 at the age of 74 years, worked from 1945 to 1976 at 81 recording sessions, including an album under his own name ( Smoky Mary, 1969).
