Albert Butz

Albert M. Butz (* 1849 in Switzerland, † 1904 in the U.S.) was a Swiss- American inventor and businessman.

Butz came in 1857 with his parents from Switzerland to the United States. Since 1880, he worked on various inventions. On April 23, 1886, he founded the Butz Thermo- Electric Regulator Co., Minneapolis. The aim of this company was marketing the first working temperature controller for Ofenfeuerungen, for which he received a patent in 1885. 1888 left Butz Minnesota. Later the company in Minneapolis - Honeywell was renamed.
