Albert Cole Hopkins

Albert Cole Hopkins (* September 15, 1837 in Jamestown, New York, † June 9, 1911 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1891 and 1895 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Albert Hopkins attended the common schools and the Alfred University, also in New York State. After that, he worked for some time as a teacher. He then worked until 1867 in Troy (Pennsylvania) in the trade. Then he moved to Lock Haven, where he was active in the timber industry. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1890 Hopkins was in the 16th electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Henry Clay McCormick on March 4, 1891. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1895 two legislative sessions. In 1894 he gave up another candidacy.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives sat Albert Hopkins his work in the timber industry continues. Between 1899 and 1904 he was a forestry officer of the State Government of Pennsylvania. He died on June 9, 1911 in Lock Haven, where he was also buried.
