Albert Coppé
Albert Coppé (* November 26, 1911 in Bruges, † 30 March 1999) was a Belgian politician. He was Vice- President of the European Coal and Steel Community ( ECSC).
Life and work
From 1946 to 1952 he was Minister of Public Works, economy and reconstruction of Belgium. Then he became in 1952 Vice President of the High Authority of the ECSC and in 1967 for a few months President.
The agreement to merge the organizations of the three European Communities, he moved to the new European Commission and was 1967-1970 Budget Commissioner, then to 1973, Social and Transport Commissioner.
