Albert Hamilton Gordon

Albert Hamilton Gordon ( born July 21, 1901 in Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, † May 1, 2009 in New York City ) was an American businessman and economist.

Short Biography

Albert Gordon attended the Roxbury Latin School until 1919, where he was in 1940 appointed curator. In 1925 he earned a degree from Harvard Business School. He went to Wall Street and worked at Goldman Sachs. In 1930 he completed his studies at Harvard Business School. In 1931 he took over with two partners, the financial firm Kidder, Peabody & Co. and headed it until its sale to General Electric in 1986.

According to him the Gordon formula is named for the calculation of the present value of a stock or company with rising dividends.
