Albert-Jan Pool

Albert -Jan Pool ( born July 9, 1960 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch type designer, typographer and graphic designer.

Biography

Pool studied at the Royal Academy in The Hague and from 1987 began his career as a type designer, typographer and graphic designer in Germany. He worked as a type director at Scan Graphic and URW. At the suggestion of Erik Spiekermann designed pool which is based on the OCR-B font FF OCR - F, which is based on the DIN 1451 FF DIN. The latter is one of the most successful fonts of the FontFont library at FSI FontShop International. In 1999 he founded the agency FarbTon concept and design together with Birgit Hartmann, Jörn Iken and Klaus -Peter Staudinger. After he left the agency in 2005, he devoted himself - by its own account - again increasing the font style and teaches at the Hanseatic Academy of Marketing and Media in Hamburg and the Muthesius Academy of Kiel.
