Albert Joseph Goblet d'Alviella

Albert Joseph Goblet, Count of Alviella ( born May 26, 1790 in Tournai, † May 5, 1873 in Brussels) was a Belgian general and statesman.

Goblet was first French officer, resigned after the restoration in the Dutch military service and took over at the outbreak of the Belgian Revolution of 1830, the War Department. In 1832 he became Minister of Foreign Affairs, France led to the siege of the citadel of Antwerp and brought a preliminary peace treaty with Holland access roads. Later he worked on a draft of a new defense system of the northern border of Belgium.

1837 Goblet went as an envoy and advisor of Queen Maria da Gloria to Portugal where he was appointed to the grandees and Count of Alviella. In 1839 he became the head of the genius service again and was 1843-1845 again minister of foreign affairs. 1854 retired from active service Goblet. Until 1862, he participated as a delegate to the state stores an active part. His 1858 presented plans to reinforce the fortress of Antwerp were accepted.

Albert Joseph Goblet died on 5 May 1873 in Brussels.
