Albert Nordengen

Albert Nordengen ( born 2 May 1923 in Våler, Østfold, † December 18, 2004 in Oslo) was a Norwegian politician and mayor of the Norwegian capital Oslo from 1976 until 1990.

Nordengen began his political career in 1951 in Oslo's city council. Between 1953 and 1954 he was chairman of the National Federation of the youth organization of the party Høyre, 1968 Leader of the Høyre in Oslo's city council. In 1972, he was the local council for education and culture, and finally mayor of 1976 until 1990.

In October 2002, he was honored by King Harald V with the Norwegian Order of Merit in Gold for its active participation in Norwegian politics.
