Albert Renaud

Albert Roméo Renaud ( born October 2, 1920 in Ottawa, Ontario; † 20 December 2012) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.

Career

Albert Renaud started his career as a hockey player in the Ottawa Junior Hockey League, where he was active 1937-1940 Ottawa LaSalle and the Westboro Spearman. In the senior level, he first appeared in the season 1940/41, for the Ottawa Montagnards, for which he completed two games before he spent the rest of the season with the Ottawa Car Bombers from the Upper Ottawa Valley Hockey League ( UOVHL ). In the season 1941/42, he was active for the Hull valances. Between 1942 and 1944 he played for several teams from the Ontario Senior Hockey League ( OCSHL ) and the Ottawa National Defense Hockey League ( ONDHL ). Other stations in the amateur field were in the 1945/46 season, the Ottawa Quarter Masters from the ONDHL and the Ottawa Senators from the UOVHL. In the 1946/47 season he represented the Ottawa New Edinburgh from the OCSHL on the ice. He was then obliged by the RCAF Flyers, with whom he represented Canada in 1948 at the Olympic Winter Games. The RCAF Flyers he stayed two years before he ran aground in the season 1950/51 for the military team Ottawa Army. After one season with the Hull flounces he worked from 1952 to 1955 player-manager of the Brockville Magedomas from the New York - Ontario Hockey League. In the 1990s, he donated his Olympic jersey of the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.

Internationally

For Canada Renaud took part in the Winter Olympics 1948 in St. Moritz, where he won the gold medal with his team. In eight games, he scored four goals and ten templates.
