Alberta Slim

Alberta Slim ( born February 2, 1910 as Eric Charles Edwards in Wiltshire, England; † 26 November 2005 in Surrey, British Columbia) was a British country music singer who gained fame primarily in Canada.

Career

Before Alberta Slim was invited by the Columbia Records for an audition, he traveled with his vaudeville show by Canada. His show was special because Slim met with his elephant Susie ( the tons weighed 3.5 ). An elephant was for the rural population at that time something very special, thereby the tickets sold, as if by Susie addition to the Slim Elenfanten had four dogs.

Between 1938 and 1947 he was regularly heard on radio stations across Canada. In 1949 he reached with When It's Apple Blossom Time In Annapolis Valley his first chart success. In the following years he was represented by titles such as Waltz Waltz Evelina, You Say I'm A Fool, My Annapolis Valley Home and It's Too Late To Take Care always on the Billboard country charts.

Alberta Slim is one of the most famous Hillbilly musician in Canada.
