Alberto Ablondi
Alberto Ablondi ( born December 18, 1924 in Milan, Italy, † August 21 2010 in Livorno) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Livorno.
Life
Ablondi received on 31 May 1947, and was ordained priest incardinated in the Diocese of Ventimiglia - San Remo and was a pastor in San Remo. After further degrees in Archaeology ( 1947), in Philosophy ( 1950) and Law ( 1955), he taught literature and philosophy and religion at the seminary in Bordighera and religion at the seminary Cassini in San Remo.
Pope Paul VI. appointed him in 1966 as Titular Bishop of Mulli and appointed him as Auxiliary Bishop of Livorno. He received his episcopal consecration on October 1, 1966 Felicissimo Stefano Tinivella OFM, Koadjutorerzbischof of Turin; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Siena, Ismaele Mario Castellano OP, and Emilio Biancheri, Bishop of Rimini. He was Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Massa Marittima 1966-1970 In 1970, he was employed as Coadjutor Bishop in the Diocese of Livorno.; September 26, 1970, he was the appointment of Ablondi Bishop of Livorno. His age-related resignation was accepted in 2000 by Pope John Paul II.
Ablondi was Vice - President of the Italian Bishops' Conference and a member of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. From 1984 to 1996 he was president of the Catholic Biblical Federation.
He was Grand Officer of the Order of the Holy grave in Jerusalem and Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. Ablondi was an honorary citizen of Livorno and San Remo.
