Alberto Bottari de Castello

Alberto Bottari de Castello ( born July 5, 1942 in Montebelluna, Treviso, Italy ) is a Vatican diplomat.

He has received on September 11, 1966 His priesthood. He then worked in various Apostolic Nunciature, including in Zaire. Pope Paul VI. gave him on 27 February 1976 honorary title chaplain of His Holiness ( Monsignor ). On 18 December 1999 by Pope John Paul II appointed Titular Archbishop of Foratiana and Apostolic Nuncio for Gambia, Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. He received his episcopal consecration John Paul II on 6 January 2000 in St. Peter's Basilica; Co-consecrators were Curia Archbishop Giovanni Battista Re and Archbishop Marcello Zago.

On 1 April 2005 he was Apostolic Nuncio to Japan. Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 8 December 2007 Titular Archbishop of Opitergium.
