Alberto Cerqui

Alberto Cerqui (* June 20, 1992 in Brescia ) is an Italian race car driver. He won the 2011 Italian Superstars Series rating. In 2012 he went to the World Touring Car Championship at the start.

Career

Cerqui began his career like most racers in karting, where he was active from 2002 to 2008. In 2009 he moved to the Formula racing and entered into the formula to Azzura. He chose four of 16 races for themselves and became champion. 2010 Cerqui received a cockpit at Ombra Racing in the Italian Formula 3 Championship. With a ninth place as best result he finished the season starting on the 19th place in the championship.

2011 Cerqui decided for a change in touring car racing. In ROAL Motorsport, who entered as a team BMW Italia, he received a cockpit in the Superstars Series. He won three races and stood on the podium nine times. At the end of the season he was the winner of the Italian standings and was in third place in the international ranking. In both votes, he was the best BMW driver. 2012 Cerqui went for ROAL Motorsport in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC) at the start. He drove a BMW 320 TC. After the second race weekend, he finished twelfth overall.
