Alberto Fuguet

Alberto Fuguet de Goyeneche ( born March 7, 1964 in Santiago) is a Chilean writer.

Alberto Fuguet issued in the 1990s, the anthology McOndo, in the Latin American and Spanish writers published in opposition to the magic realism of Latin American boom generation " Cuentos ". In the preface, which was often viewed as a manifesto for the fictional country McOndo, Fuguet proclaimed selbiges ( McOndo, a neologism from Macondo and McDonalds and Macintosh), which stands for a U.S. Americanized and consumer-oriented penetration of society. He turns decidedly against the Realismo Mágico, which was heralded primarily by García Márquez's book " One Hundred Years of Solitude", in which work can also be found the creation of the small village of Macondo.

By McOndo was made aware of, inter alia, the development of pop culture and the influence of cinema, TV, pop music and consumption.
