Albin Vega

The Albin Vega is a sailing boat type, which was built at the shipyard Albin Marin ( Kristinehamn ) in Sweden. It was designed in 1964 by Per Brohäll. The first prototype, still in wood, was released on July 29, 1965 to water. Series production was carried out in glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP). Was set up production in 1979, left 3450 ships the shipyard.

Matt Rutherford caused quite a stir when he held until May 2012 with his Albin Vega Saint Brendan the first single-handed non-stop around America sailed from June 2011. The Saint Brendan is so far the smallest ship that mastered the Northwest Passage.
