Alborz Province

The Alborz Province (Persian استان البرز ) is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. The provincial capital is Karaj. It was created June 23, 2010 by splitting off the north-western part of Tehran Province.

In addition to the fifth largest city of Iran Karaj are also the places Hashtgerd, Taleqan and Nazarabad in the province of Alborz.
