Album for the Young

The Album for the Young, op.68 (formed 1848), is an existing of 43 piano pieces by Robert Schumann in. Unlike the Kinderszenen the pieces are suitable for children and beginners. The second part, from number 19, is accompanied by the words For more adult and also includes technically demanding pieces.

Importance

The Album for the Young heard - not least because of its diversity - the standard works for piano lessons. Most popular is probably the number 10, The Happy Farmer, Returning from work. Also very well known are the number eight, Wild Rider and the number 13, May, lovely May

Content

The Album for the Young consists of 43 individual parts and an appendix of 30 pieces, which were not printed during his lifetime Schumann. The " ⁂ " symbol denotes a title that the player should choose.
