Alceu Valença

Alceu Valença ( born July 1, 1946 in São Bento do Una in Pernambuco, Brazil) is a Brazilian singer-songwriter.

After a successful completion of his law studies in 1970, he worked only a few months in the field, before he devoted himself to music. His first record was Quadrofônica with guitarist Geraldo Azevedo under the group name Alceu Valença e Geraldo Azevedo in 1972. Thus he became known to a wider audience beyond the borders of Brazilian Pernambuco addition.

The singer / songwriter has since released over twenty albums. His music is a blend of Brazilian folk, rock and jazz. He has performed, among others, at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the music festival Rock in Rio II - directly to Prince.
