Alcibíades Arosemena

Alcibiades Arosemena Quinzada ( born November 20, 1883 in the province of Los Santos, † April 8, 1958 ) was the 26th President of the Republic of Panama.

Arosemena was the first employee of the financial administration of the province of Panama, and later Secretary of the Treasury and Ambassador of Panama in Spain and France, and from 1949 to 1951 vice- president of his country. At a time when the country was in a severe economic crisis and civil unrest were commonplace, he took over on May 9, 1951, the office of the President as the successor of the deposed Arnulfo Arias and led his term of office until the scheduled end on October 1, 1952 further. He was replaced by Jose Antonio Remon Cantera.
