Alcione Nazareth

Alcione ( born November 21, 1947 in São Luís / Maranhão ), actually Alcione Dias Nazareth, is a Brazilian singer and composer.

Career

Alcione, which is nicknamed " Alcione a Marrom " was already coined musical in her parents' house. My father played in a police chapel and on typical Bumba Meu Boi Northeast Brazil festivals. In 1976 she moved to Rio de Janeiro, where she worked for a TV station. With TV Excelsior, she traveled among others, Argentina and Chile. For two years she lived in Europe, but returned back to their homes. Alcione became famous for her appearances in major nightclubs of Rio de Janeiro as Canecão, Emperor, Palace and Memorial da América Latina. She also sang at the Teatro João Caetano and Teatro Carlos Gomes. International Alcione took part in tours throughout America, Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. 2003 Alcione won the Latin Grammy for Best Samba Album. Among the national awards conferred on it by the Academia Brasileira de Letras de Melhor Cantora the Prêmio Popular, they also won the Prêmio TIM de Música. In total, she won 19 gold and two platinum records. Together with the samba schools in Rio de Janeiro took Alcione numerous CDs, such as " Duetos " with Neguinho Beija -Flor of the Escola de Samba or Unidos da Ponte Samba de Enredo '' Marrom Since Cor do Samba ''.
