Aldo Sambrell

Aldo Sambrell (actually Alfredo Sanchez Brell, born February 23, 1937 in Madrid, † July 10, 2010 in Alicante ) was a Spanish film actor, producer and director.

Life

Sambrell spent part of his youth when he fled to Mexico before Francisco Franco 's father and, after returning to his home country a first film role in Nicholas Ray's King of Kings. Soon, he was primarily known for his roles in spaghetti westerns; among other things, he appeared in this genre in all Sergio Leone's films. In more than 150 films he appeared as the most unsympathetic character, often as Mexicans. His best role and one of the largest he played in Sergio Corbuccis Navajo Joe ( 1966).

After the waning of the Western wave succeeded Sambrell to continue to stay in business, so that it is one of the actors most commonly used.

In addition to his genre films Sambrell was also in more demanding productions such as Doctor Zhivago (1965 ), Buñuel's Tristana (1970 ) or I Picari (1988 ) can be seen.
