The language Alege ( Alegi, ugbe and uge, ISO 639-3 is a ) is an almost extinct Nigerian language that is spoken in the state of Cross River.
It belongs to the Bendi - group of the Cross River languages and is spoken by only 1,200 people.
Together with the language Gayi [ bzy ] and the other Cross River languages the Alege and the language group of the East Benue - Congo languages .
