Alejandra Ruddoff

Alejandra Ruddoff ( born July 13, 1960 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean sculptor.

Biography

Ruddoff holds a degree in sculpture in 1985 at the University of Chile. In 1993 she received a postgraduate diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, where she Exchange Service (DAAD ) studied with a scholarship from the German Academic. Ruddoff was awarded the 1st prize of the Chilean Ministry of Public Works in 2000, this purpose was her work pays homage to the wind -. The artist developed large-scale, site-specific installations in public space. Among them are the work of Peace, Friendship and Time's Space (2001), which was made in the context of the fifth International Sculpture Symposium in Changchun and placed in the local sculpture park, as well as the sculpture Forward (1997), which is in Potsdam since 2002. During a stay at the Volkswagen Design Center Potsdam 2006 Ruddoff developed a model for the development of the latter. On behalf of the DAAD she made in 2010 to work Forward II, which is situated at the Kennedy Avenue in Bonn front of the headquarters of the DAAD. Since 2009 she works as a freelance artist in Berlin.

Work

Ruddoffs main interest is the relationship between time, space and matter and the laws of motion. The energy source of the nature and the driving force of technological world mark their works. Characteristic of the oeuvre is an aesthetic, abstract yet sensual imagery that combines natural and mechanical proper forms.
