The University of Elbasan ( full name University Aleksandër Xhuvani Elbasan, Albanian Universiteti " Aleksandër Xhuvani " Elbasan ) is a state-supported university in the Albanian town of Elbasan medium. It was founded in 1971 as an educational training center institute i Larte Pedagogjik Aleksandër Xhuvani and 1991 converted to university. The university is named after the educator and philologist Aleksandër Xhuvani (* 1880, † 1961).
21 May 2012 twelve students of the University have a trip lost their lives when their coach came in Himara off the road and crashed into a ravine.
