Aleksandrs Semjonovs

Aleksandrs Semjonovs ( born June 8, 1972 in Riga ) is a former Latvian ice hockey player and current coach and - functionary.

Career

Aleksandrs Semjonovs began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Pārdaugava Riga, for the first team, he first in the 1991/92 season in the Wysschaja League, the highest Soviet league, and then for three years in its subsequent competition, the International Hockey League was active. The 1995/96 season spent the Center at Hermes Kokkola in the I- divisioona, the Finnish second division. He then spent two years playing for the Vojens IK in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen, before he ever played a year for the IF in the Swedish Elitserien Björklöven and the Heilbronner EC from the 2nd Bundesliga. For the 2000/01 season he returned to the IF Björklöven back in the Elitserien, had with his team but to accept relegation to the second-class HockeyAllsvenskan. Middle of the season 2001/ 02 he moved within the Swedish second division for IFK Arboga IK, for he stood in the following four years on the ice. In the 2003 /04 season he also played two games for the Elitserien participants Leksand IF. The 2005/06 season he finished at the Malmö Redhawks in the HockeyAllsvenskan.

The 2006/07 season began Semjonovs in Herning Blue Fox in the AL -Bank Ligaen, but left the team after just six games to go to the HC Traktor Chelyabinsk of the Russian Super League to play. For the HK tractor in 25 games, he scored one goal and four assists. The season 2007/ 08 spent the Lette again in Denmark, this time at AaB Ishockey. He then played three years for his former club IFK Arboga IK in Division 1, the third Swedish league before he ended his active career. Since 2010 he has worked for the team as general manager since the 2011 season as coach of the parallel U18 juniors of the club.

Internationally

For Latvia Semjonovs adopted the B World Championships in 1994, 1995 and 1996 and the A World Championships in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 in part. In addition, he was in the squad of his country at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and Torino 2006.
