Aleksej Aleksandrov

Alexei Alexandrov (Russian: Алексей Геннадьевич Александров; belarusian Аляксей Аляксандраў / Aljaksej Aljaksandrau; engl Alexei Alexandrov, . Born 11 May 1973) is a Belarusian chess champion of the world elite.

His first international success celebrated Alexandrov 1991, when he ( behind Vladimir Kramnik ) announced in Guarapuava with Konstantin Zakayev second place at the World Youth Championships U18. A year later he was in Terneuzen - Sas van Gent Youth European Championship U20, in the following year finally shared second place ( with Alexander Onischuk ) at the European Youth Championships U18 in Kolding ( by Vladislav Borowikow ). In 1997, FIDE awarded him the grandmaster title. In 2000 he won the silver medal at the European Championships in Saint -Vincent. In the years 1989, 1990, 1996 and 2007, he won the championship of Belarus.
