Alessandro Tiarini

Alessandro Tiarini (* March 20, 1577 in Bologna, † February 8, 1668 ) was an Italian painter.

His mother died early; he was raised by an aunt who unsuccessfully tried to move him to an ecclesiastical career.

The painter Lavinia Fontana was his godfather. Among his teachers were Prospero Fontana and Bartolomeo Cesi. After a deadly dispute Tiarini fled to Florence. There he worked mainly for Domenico Passignano, but also for Poccetti Bernardino and Jacopo da Empoli.
