Ã€lex Abrines

Alejandro Abrines Redondo (usually only Álex Abrines; born August 1, 1993, Palma ) is a Spanish professional basketball player. He is a so-called Swingman which is used both on the position of the small forwards and shooting guard.

Career

Álex Abrines played until he was 17, from the big Spanish clubs unnoticed for any club of his hometown AEB La Salle Palma. In September 2010, Unicaja Málaga undertook the talented swingman, put him in the second team Clínicas Rincón Axarquia in the LEB Oro one. In the season 2010/11 he managed in 30 games at an average of 5.3 points and 1.8 rebounds. Nevertheless, he was in the following year of the first team of the club, celebrated on October 9, 2011 in a game against CB Gran Canaria his debut in the ACB league and ran on 9 November against KK Zagreb also the first time in the ULEB Euro League. At the beginning of the season came Abrines only sporadically used, but from the end of February 2012, he played in the regular team and convinced, despite his young age, with strong performances. 11 March 2012 he scored in a league match against Estudiantes ASEFA 31 points, a record for a player his age. Overall, he brought it in the season 2011/12 to 18 appearances in the first team. In summer 2012 he moved to FC Barcelona where Abrines signed a four-year contract.

National

Álex Abrines was called to the U-18 European Championship 2011 in Wroclaw first in the Spanish national team. The Iberians brought the gold medal and he was honored for his outstanding individual performances as MVP of the tournament. In the U-20 European Championship in 2012 he reached the bronze medal with his team.
