Alex Moore (dancer)

Alex Moore ( * 1901, † 1991 ) was a British dance teacher, who has written the most important art books for the ballroom dance. He is known in sports circles as dance dance Pope.

His life's work is the book Ballroom Dancing. It has been used for decades repeatedly updated and supplemented by other works. Later it was renamed The Revised Technique of Ballroom Dancing.

Moore was chairman and later president of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing ( ISTD ). In 1932 he gave the Alex Moore Monthly Letter Service out a periodical journal about the ballroom dance that evidence for dancers and dance teachers as well as information about competitions contained. It was distributed in several languages ​​in 40 countries.
