Alex Stewart (boxer)

Alex Stewart ( born June 28, 1964 in London ) is a retired American boxer. It can be classified as above average club fighter; a significant victory he never succeeded, but he stood with many world-class opponents in the ring.

He began his professional career in May 1987 with a knockout win over Eric Mitchell. He suffered his first loss November 4, 1989 against the undefeated Evander Holyfield by TKO in the 8th round. A year later, on December 8, 1990, he succumbed to the ex world champion Mike Tyson by demolition in Round 1, in July 1991 the eventual champion Michael Moorer in round 4 In April 1992, he suffered a narrow and disputed against George Foreman on points, again in 1993 against Evander Holyfield, with whom he this time went the full distance.

In August 1995, he defeated Jesse Ferguson on points.

In 1997, he lost to eventual WBC champion Oleg Maskajew by KO in round 7

His last fight he lost in 1999 against Jorge Luis Gonzales by termination in round 2
