Alexander Arkadyevich Suvorov

Arkadyevitch Alexander Suvorov Rymnikski, Prince Italijski (Russian Александр Аркадьевич Суворов; * 1 Julijul / July 13 1804greg, .. .. † 31 Januarjul / February 12 1882greg in Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian diplomat and general.

Life

Suvorov was a grandson of the Russian commander Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov. He studied at Göttingen and in 1825 the Corps Curonia VII active. He served in the Caucasus and Poland and was repeatedly sent to diplomatic missions on German farms. In 1848 he was Governor-General of the Baltic Provinces, which he very successfully managed. Since 1861 he was Governor-General of St. Petersburg. As the Office accounted five years later, he became inspector general of infantry.
