Alexander Chernikov

Alexander Mikhailovich Chernikov (Russian Александр Михайлович Черников; born September 4, 1984 in Togliatti, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is since May 2012 with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Alexander Chernikov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the HK Lada Togliatti, for the second team, he was active in the third-class Perwaja League from 2002 to 2004. In parallel, he came from the 2002/03 season for the ZSK WWS Samara Wysschaja League, the second Russian league, used, in which he remained even after his departure from HK Lada to 2005. For the 2005/06 season, the attacker moved within the second Russian league for HC Traktor Chelyabinsk, with whom he rose immediately as second division champions in the Super League. After a year at HK tractor in the Super League, the Russian returned to HK Lada Togliatti, for in the Kontinental Hockey League newly established he stood from 2007 to 2010, first in the Super League and from the season 2008/09 season on the ice.

2010 HK Lada was excluded from the KHL. Then Chernikov left his hometown club and signed a contract with HK Sibir Novosibirsk, for whom he played until the 2011/12 season and it played more than 100 KHL games.

In May 2012, he received a contract with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
