Alexander Golovin (ice hockey)

Alexander Sergeyevich Golovin (Russian Александр Сергеевич Головин; born 26 March 1983) is a Russian ice hockey player who is under contract with THK Tver in the Wysschaja Hockey League since July 2013.

Career

Alexander Golovin began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of the HK Avangard Omsk, for the second team, he was active in the third-class Perwaja League from 1998 to 2002. In the meantime, he spent most of the season 2001 /02 at Mostowik Kurgan, for the first team he Wysschaja in the league, the second Russian league, ran aground. After the winger was at the beginning of the 2002/ 03 to eight appearances for the Avangard Omsk HK in the Super League, he changed course of the season to HK Sibir Novosibirsk. For the season 2003/ 04 he returned to Avangard Omsk, with whom he was first in his career, Champion of Russia, before he again stood from 2004 to 2006 for the HK Sibir Novosibirsk on the ice.

After one and a half years with Ak Bars Kazan Golovin was during the season 2007/ 08 once again obliged Avangard Omsk of. With the HK Avangard he also began the 2008/09 season in the Kontinental Hockey League newly formed, left this but after only three games back and changed within the KHL for SKA St. Petersburg, for he held until end of the season in 28 games two goals scored and gave three assists. In the summer of 2009, the right-handed shooter signed a contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk. In Metallurg, the Russian could finally prevail in the KHL and achieve 48 scorer points in 101 games, before he was hired by HK Spartak Moscow in January 2011. As early as the 2011/12 season, however, he returned back to Metallurg Novokuznetsk.

The season 2012/13 he started at HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk, before he was hired in November 2012 by Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg.

Internationally

For Russia Golovin took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 2001, in which he became world champion with his team. For this success he contributed two goals and three assists in six games.
