Alexander Guskov

Alexander Alexandrovich Guskov (Russian Александр Александрович Гуськов; * 26 November 1976 in Gorky, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Traktor Chelyabinsk in the Kontinental Hockey League since May 2013.

Career

Alexander Guskov began his career as a hockey player with the HC Traktor Chelyabinsk, for whom he made ​​his debut in the Russian Super League in the 1998/99 season. During his rookie year, he moved to the league rivals HK Lada Togliatti. Then the defender received a contract with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, for which he was on the ice for two years before he was active for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl 2001-2004. With Yaroslavl he was of 2002 and 2003 Champion of Russia. In addition, the Russian was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round in 2003 when a total of 200 players from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

After Guskov had started the 2004/05 season at Ak Bars Kazan, he was made in the course of the season at the HK Avangard Omsk, with whom he won the IIHF European Champions Cup in 2005. After one and a half years at the Avangard links Sagittarius returned for the season 2006/ 07 back to HK Lada Togliatti. He was then obliged by Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, for whom he played until the end of the season 2010/11 in the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League. In May 2011 Guskov was obliged by HK CSKA Moscow. After 67 KHL games for CSKA Guskov was traded in October 2012 against Maxim Kondratiev of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

In May 2013 Guskov returned to HK back Traktor Chelyabinsk.

Internationally

For Russia Guskov participated in the World Championships in 2002, 2003 and 2004.
