Alexander Kitarov

Alyaksandr Sjarhejewitsch Kitarau (White Russian Аляксандр Сяргеевіч Кітараў; Russian Александр Сергеевич Китаров / Alexander Sergeyevich Kitarow; born June 18, 1987 in Nawapolazk, Byelorussian SSR) is a Belarusian professional ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Dinamo Minsk in the Kontinental Hockey League since 2011.

Career

Alyaksandr Kitarau began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Chimik -SKA Nawapolazk, for the first team, he was active in the Belarusian Extraliga from 2004 to 2008. Towards the end of the 2007/ 08 joined the Center for HK Junost Minsk, with whom he won consecutive Belarusian league titles in 2009, 2010 and 2011, three times. At European level, he won with the team in the 2010/11 season the IIHF Continental Cup. He scored in the final and decisive group match against the defending champions EC Red Bull Salzburg 4-3 winning goal.

For the 2011/12 season Kitarau was obliged by HC Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League.

Internationally

For Kitarau Belarus took part in the junior level at the U18 Junior B World Cup 2005 and the U20 Junior B World Cup 2006. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad for the A- World Cup 2011.
